Introduction:
Since the days of
Emil Škoda we have always appreciated quality,
tradition, stability, dynamics and
responsibility. The first reference to a
forging shop was in 1859 when Count Waldstein
moved his engineering workshop to Plzeň. In
1869 Emil Škoda bought the Waldstein´s works
and in 1886 the first steelworks in Bohemia
was founded. The provatisation in 1993 formed
the independed legal entities ŠKODA HUTĚ,
Plzeň, s.r.o. and ŠKODA KOVÁRNY, Plzeň ,
s.r.o. In 1996 the consorcium Škoda Steel was
founded. In 2004 the consorcium was sold and
incorporated into the OMZ Group and two years
later was rebranded on ŠKODA STEEL s.r.o. and
from 2007 the both metallurgical companies are
PILSEN STEEL s.r.o. PILSEN STEEL s.r.o.
maintains its top position on the word´s
market of open die finish-machined forgings,
steel and iron castings as well as ingots for
forging and rolling industries. Our excellent
reputation has been developed through
producing high-quality products for power
generation industry, shipbuilding industry,
rolling mills as well as cutting and forming
machines. A significant competitive advantage
is the ability to manage complete
manufacturing cycle, i.e. starting with steel
making, casting and forging through to heat
treatment, rough and finish machining...
